FAU to Offer Two New Degree Programs This Fall
鶹ýӳ’s will offer two new degree programs this fall – a Master of Science degree in marine science and oceanography and a Bachelor of Arts degree in health sciences.
In collaboration with FAU’s , the master’s degree program will offer students interested in coastal and oceanographic science the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers and engineers at HBOI in Fort Pierce. This hands-on experience will provide students with a broad understanding of coastal, nearshore and oceanographic science while they learn how to conduct independent research. The degree will prepare students for careers in research, education, government, private-sector consulting and nonprofit organizations.
The bachelor’s degree in health sciences program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. The interdisciplinary curriculum will broaden students’ understanding of factors that both positively and negatively impact the healthcare system, patients and practitioners. The program will prepare students for additional graduate-level training in clinical or nonclinical careers, including public health, pharmaceutical sales and physical therapy.
“These new degree programs reflect our faculty’s strong commitment to meeting the needs of FAU students and the community at-large,” said , Ph.D., dean of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. “They also represent interdisciplinary collaborations that build upon the strengths already present at FAU.”
