Osher LLI at FAU Jupiter Presents FAU Theatre Lab

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Â鶹´«Ă˝Ół» in Jupiter will present FAU’s Theatre Lab’s Playwright’s Forum Series, which begins Wednesday, Oct. 17.
Theatre Lab will welcome some of the nation’s most notable playwrights to share readings of their newest plays followed by a discussion about the work, their process and the importance of new-play development. These one-time performances take place in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute complex at FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus, 5353 Parkside Dr., in Jupiter and include:
- “Berlin Diary,” a playwright by Andrea Stolowitz, a multinational playwright who works as a collaborating writer with the award-winning devised theater company Hand2Mouth, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. This play is based on Stolowitz’s great-grandfather’s 1939 diary from the archives of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
- “Justice is Dead (A Madcap Comedy),” a playwright by Ken Weitzman, a national award-winning playwright who’s play “Halftime with Don,” was slated for three productions in 2017 as part of an NNPN Rolling Premiere at NJ Rep, B Street Theatre and the Phoenix Theatre, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. This play is about how the president of the United States pardons a notorious racist and how the Supreme Court must decide on whether or not to allow it.
- “Apple Season,” a playwright by E.M. Lewis, an award-winning playwright who has work produced around the world and published by Samuel French, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. This play focuses on family secrets, a funeral and how a tangled past refuses to let two siblings move on with their lives in peace.
