FAU Celebrates ‘Owlstock’ for Homecoming 2019

鶹ýӳ will celebrate Homecoming 2019 “Owlstock” beginning Friday, Oct. 11 through Friday, Oct. 18, at its Boca Raton, Broward, and Jupiter campuses. All events are open to FAU students, faculty and staff unless otherwise noted.

The following events will take place at FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road:

Annual Drag Show
Friday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m.
Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium

FAU’s annual Drag Show is one of the Center for IDEAs and Multicultural Programming Board’s signature events celebrating the art of drag performance. The show will host performances by six of the most popular drag queens in the local community.

Goat Yoga
Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon
Housing Lawn

There are three sessions of ‘goat yoga’ available with limited spaces. This event is for students only.

Chalk Art Competition

Homecoming Comedy Show
Monday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m.

The annual homecoming comedy show will feature headliner Chris D’Elia. Tickets are available at the FAU Box Office.

‘ExtravaCANza’ Canned Food Sculpture Contest
Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
SO Building Rotunda

FAU’s Weppner Center for LEAD & Service-Learning and Students Advocating Volunteer Involvement (SAVI) will host “ExtravaCANza,” a unique tin-can food drive competition.Teams will race to build the best sculpture out of canned food items. After the event, all non-perishable items used will be donated to Boca Helping Hands and FAU’s Beyond Food.

Red Hot Madness and Stroll Off
Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
FAU Burrow Arena

Join National Pan-Hellenic Council fraternities and sororities as they show off their best moves. There will be strolling, contests, prizes and live music. This is also your chance to meet the FAU men’s and women’s basketball teams before each kick-off their seasons.

Remembering the Iconic 60s and Woodstock
Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.

FAU’s Department of History presents “The John O’ Sullivan Memorial Concert: Remembering the 1960s and Woodstock.” Tickets are $20 and can be purchased ator by calling 561-297-6124. FAU students, faculty, staff and alumni tickets are free with valid ID.

Cheer on the FAU Owls as the team takes on the Marshall Thundering Herd to mark the end of Homecoming. The Homecoming royalty also will be crowned during the halftime show.
