The Next Election is Here … for the Best Art of Science Photos

鶹ýӳ invites the public to cast their votes for the best images captured by its researchers in a contest that highlights work from across FAU’s 10 colleges.
The goal of FAU’s Art of Science photo contest, which is in its third year and comprised of two competitions, is to engage and educate the public in the unique study, scholarship and creative activities taking place in the University’s labs, out in the fields and across its disciplines.
The People’s Choice Award invites the public to select its favorite image among more than 130 finalists by , with voting open until Dec. 10 at midnight. This public voting award was preceded by a contest where 13 judges from across the University chose three winners. The winning photographs, including the eight honorable mentions and top in the field and in the lab winners, are here . The top three winning photos can be downloaded .
This year, an image by Maciej Stawikowski, Ph.D., research professor, Charles E. Schmidt College of Science, showing what cholesterol imbalance in the brain looks like was awarded first place by the panel of judges. His research looks at how cholesterol imbalance may hold the key to understanding Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
