FAU Preschoolers to Rally in Support of Environment
Preschool students from FAU’s Karen Slattery Educational Research Center for Child Development will stage their support for the environment as part of FAU’s annual Earth Day celebration.

Preschool students from FAU’s Karen Slattery Educational Research Center for Child Development will stage their support for the environment as part of FAU’s annual Earth Day celebration on Friday, April 22 at 10:15 a.m.The 4 year olds will rally with signs they created on FAU’s Breezeway, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.
A group of fifth graders from FAU’s A.D. Henderson University School also will show their support for the environment with presentations on deforestation, invasive species, and marine debris. Fifth grade students Luna Forero, Chase Delanoy and Megan Chin Cheong will be presented with a prize they recently won for the Gumbo Limbo Marine Debris Sculpture contest.
Educational displays will be set up in the Breezeway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., which includes information on green cleaning products, eco batteries, LED lighting, solar power, alternative transportation, solid waste and recycling.
FAU’s Mission Green Student Association (MGSA) will have a sign-up table to take the Green Pledge, in which students, faculty, and staff can commit to reduce their carbon footprint and promote sustainability at FAU. MGSA also will provide ink and toner cartridge recycling.Â
