FAU Celebrates Homecoming 2015 'Owls: Agents of Change'

鶹ýӳ will celebrate Homecoming 2015 beginning Saturday, Oct. 24 through Saturday, Oct. 31.

This year's theme, 'Owls: Agents of Change', highlights the accomplishments FAU students are making around the world.

鶹ýӳ will celebrate Homecoming 2015 “Owls: Agents of Change” beginning Saturday, Oct. 24 through Saturday, Oct. 31, on FAU’s Boca Raton, Broward, and Jupiter campuses.

Homecoming 2015 is sponsored by FAU Student Government. All events are open to FAU faculty, staff, and students unless otherwise noted.

The following events will take place at FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road:

FAU Day of Service
Saturday, Oct. 24 at 9 a.m.

Grand Palm Room, Student Union

FAU’s Weppner Center for LEAD & Service-Learning and Students Advocating Volunteer Involvement (SAVI) will host FAU Day of Service. Homecoming Run for Autism - 5K Run/Walk
Sunday, Oct. 25
Check-in at 4:15 p.m. and race at 5:30 p.m.

The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) and FAU Campus Recreation will host the 2015 Homecoming Run for Autism. A one-mile fun run/walk will begin before the race starting at 5 p.m. A run for children ages 8 and younger will begin at 5:15 p.m. The 5K will begin at 5:30 p.m. To learn more about FAU CARD, visit .

Homecoming Comedy Show featuring Hannibal Burress
Monday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m.

This year’s kick-off event will include the FAU football team, coaches, marching band, cheerleaders and presentation of the Homecoming court. ‘ExtravaCANza’ Canned Food Sculpture Contest
Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m.

FAU’s Weppner Center for LEAD & Service-Learning and Students Advocating Volunteer Involvement (SAVI) will host “ExtravaCANza,” a unique tin-can food drive competition. Teams will race to build the best sculpture out of canned food items. After the event, all non-perishable items used will be donated to Boca Helping Hands and FAU’s Beyond Food. Meet the 2015-16 FAU men’s and women’s basketball teams at Red Hot Madness! A pre-party outside will start at 7:45 p.m. with free food and giveaways for students.

Homecoming Parade
Saturday, Oct. 31 at 11:30 a.m.

The ninth annual FAU Homecoming Parade will feature more than 60 entries, including student organization floats, specialty cars and motorcycles, walking units, as well as marching bands. FAU alumnus and retired NASA astronaut Steve Swanson will serve as the grand marshal. The parade will kick off at West University Drive and Volusia Street, and then head north to North University Drive to FAU Boulevard, and end at Palm Beach Avenue.
