FAU’s Expo for High School Students Shine Light on Academics

鶹ýӳ’s Fall Expo for high school students will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FAU Stadium, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.
A select group of students from Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties based on their academic achievements were invited to this year’s expo, which will showcase the wide variety of degree programs available within the University’s 10 colleges. More than 2,500 people are expected to attend this year’s event.
University representatives will be on-hand to immediately admit students who apply to attend FAU while they are at the expo. Merit scholarships also will be awarded to high-achieving students during a private meet-and-greet with FAU President John Kelly and other members of the University administration.
A “high-tech pavilion” displaying undergraduate research and innovation will showcase FAU Tech Runway startups, as well as projects from the College for Design and Social Inquiry’s School of Architecture, and engineering inventions from the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Campus tours and information workshops also will take place.
FAU received more than 22,100 freshman applications and more than 9,000 transfer applications for fall 2015, which is 3,000 more applications than last year. More than 5,095 applications came from Broward County this year, an 11 percent increase over last year. Applications from Palm Beach County jumped to 3,580, a 9 percent increase from fall 2014.
