FAU’s Music Season Offers Symphony, Big Band, Piano,and Jazz
The Department of Music in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents a season with 50 concerts scheduled.
FAU's 2015 music season offers a variety of musical genres to suit all tastes.
鶹ýӳ’s Department of Music in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents an expanded season of music for every taste, with 50 concerts scheduled for 2015-16. Concerts take place in FAU’s University Theatre, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.
The season opens on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. with a Piano Faculty Concert in which FAU’s internationally acclaimed faculty present their favorite works in this popular annual showcase. Performers include Heather Coltman, David Hammer, Irena Kofman, Krisztina Kover, David Rossow and Leonid Treer. The cost for this concert is $15.
On Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. the Florida Wind Symphony, South Florida’s professional wind band under the direction of Kyle Prescott, performs “A Sousa Spectacular.” The concert includes toe-tapping marches, amazing soloists and masterpieces for band. Tickets are $20.
Then on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. the Duelling Divas take the stage with a hilarious romp through operatic history, serving up all the big tunes with humor and camp. Performers include Heather Coltman, Birgit Firoavante and Laura Martinez Leon. This concert is $20.
