FAU Celebrates 25th Annual Festival of Nations
鶹ýӳ’s Center for Global Engagement and the , in partnership with and Multicultural Programming Board, will host the 25thannual Festival of Nations on Thursday, April 11 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on the Housing Lawn of the Boca Raton campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Festival of Nations is a core diversity event for the Division of Student Affairs, and an opportunity to connect with world cultures through dance, music, food tastings, exhibits, and hands-on activities.
The event will combine entertainment with education by connecting the world to FAU’s global diversity. Featured performances include:
• Step Afrika: a nationally and internationally renowned company that blends percussive dance styles practiced by historically African-American fraternities and sororities, African traditional dance and influences from other dance and art forms.
• Lanakila’s Polynesian Show: a demonstration of the varied cultural influences that shaped the “Crossroad of the Pacific” through music, dance, stories, and audience participation.
• Art of Salsa: featuring a local dance school and performances by current FAU international students.
In addition to the high-energy of cultural performances, guests of all ages will experience culture through hands-on activities such as: dream-catcher education table (sponsored by ); children’s activity corner (sponsored by Boca Raton Library); rice writing; country displays; and multicultural student organization tables representing countries and regions from around the world.
